Newly elected District Panchayat President Hema Gaida and District Panchayat Vice President Surendra Singh Negi took oath at Almora District Panchayat office on Friday. Apart from these, all the elected District Panchayat members in the district also took oath.
In the oath taking ceremony held at the District Panchayat office, District Magistrate Alok Pandey administered the oath of office and secrecy to the District Panchayat President and Vice President. After this, the newly appointed District Panchayat President Hema Gaida administered the oath to all the members.
On this occasion, the chief guest of the program, Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya said that the District Panchayat is going to play an important role in the development of the rural areas of the district, so the newly elected representatives should fulfill their new responsibility with full responsibility and seriousness.
