Under the New Education Policy-2020, the students of the state will have the option to choose the subjects of their choice. They will also get the opportunity for multiple entry and exit. A meeting of the task force constituted under the New Education Policy-2020 was held in the auditorium of the Secretariat on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat.
Many important proposals were passed in the meeting under the New Education Policy-2020. Dr. Rawat said that under NEP-2020, students in educational institutions across the state will be free to study the subjects of their choice. There will also be an opportunity for multiple entry and exit. He asked the institutions related to all types of education to prepare and implement the curriculum under the National Credit Framework.
Dr. Rawat said that in view of the current requirements, students will have to include technical knowledge related courses EV technology, IoT, SI, data analysis, emerging tech and entrepreneurship and new venture creation etc. On the other hand, Astrology, Ayush Science, Yoga Science, Vastu Science, Agriculture, Forestry and Horticulture based on Indian knowledge tradition will also have to be included in the curriculum.
Nodal Department Higher Education gave presentation on topics like National Credit Framework and Curriculum Reforms, Multidisciplinary Options, Skill Development, Digital Initiative, Graded Autonomy, Multiple Autonomy, Multiple Entry-Exit, Academic Research, Quality and Training, Indian Knowledge System, Academia-Industry Collaboration, Open Distance Learning etc. regarding NEP-2020.
