Nainital/Mussoorie: Heavy rains have been falling in many districts of Uttarakhand since late night. Due to heavy rains, life in the mountains has been disrupted. In Nainital, where the water level of Naini lake has started rising after heavy rains, the surrounding rivers have also come in spate. Due to this, the administration has also become alert. Apart from Nainital, people are facing a lot of problems due to rain in Mussoorie. The Mussoorie-Dhanaulti road was closed due to heavy debris near Woodstock School.
Nainital in distress due to rains: Heavy rains have been falling in Nainital district of Uttarakhand since late night. Due to rain, the roads of the city have been waterlogged, due to which there are also problems in the movement of vehicles. Due to rain, traffic has been disrupted in busy areas like Mall Road, Tallital and Mallital. There is silence in the markets as well.
Both local people and tourists are troubled by the weather. School children and office goers are facing a lot of problems. There have also been reports of debris falling at some places on the Nainital Bhawali motor road, although there has been no major damage.
At the same time, the Public Works Department is already prepared to ensure that the roads are not closed during the rains. JCBs of the Public Works Department are deployed on all routes including Nainital-Bhawali and Nainital-Haldwani. If there is any landslide anywhere in the rain, then the closed roads can be opened immediately. At present, all the roads are open after the rain in Nainital since late night.
Mussoorie is in a bad condition due to rain: Like Nainital, people are facing a lot of problems due to rain in Mussoorie too. It has been raining heavily in Mussoorie since late night. Due to rain, there was a landslide near Woodstock School on the Mussoorie-Dhanaulti road, due to which the road was closed.
Due to the landslide, there were long queues of vehicles on both sides of the road. Local people and tourists had to face a lot of trouble due to the blockage of the road. The local administration and Public Works Department teams removed the debris with the help of JCB. The road was opened after about two hours.
