The Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) is continuously tightening its grip on those involved in illegal plotting and unauthorized construction in and around the city. On Saturday, a joint team of the authority took action in several areas, demolishing dozens of acres of illegal plotting and sealing several commercial buildings.
MDDA Vice President Mr. Banshidhar Tiwari stated that the city will not be allowed to expand in a chaotic and illegal manner. Strict action will continue against those involved in illegal construction and plotting. He also issued a message to the public not to risk their money and future by investing in any illegal colony.
*Major Actions*
1. Shimla Bypass Road
Illegal plotting being done by Manvendra Pundir on approximately 40 bighas of land in Hinduwala Sabhawala village was demolished.
2. Selaqui (Serpur area)
About 10 bighas of illegal plotting between the highway and the Aasan River was demolished by Gulsher.
3. Chakrata Road (Shankarpur, Selaqui)
Illegal plotting being done on approximately 20 bighas of land by D.C. Bansal was demolished.
4. Kalyanpur Dharmawala Chowk
Illegal plotting being done on approximately 8 bighas of land by Rashid was demolished.
5. Adduwala, Shimla Bypass Road
Illegally constructed farmhouse and 8 commercial huts by Narendra Chauhan were sealed.
6. Dharmawal Road, Harbatpur
Illegal commercial construction near the petrol pump by Rakesh Agarwal was sealed.
7. Main Chakrata Road, Khushalpur Sahaspur
Illegal commercial construction by Salman was sealed.
8. 75 Rajpur Road, Dehradun
Illegal constructions being done by Sardar Mohd. Asraf Khan and Garg were sealed.
9. Sanskriti Lok Colony, Dehradun
Two illegal buildings constructed by Saqir were sealed.
10. Chanchak Chowk, Banjarawala
Mohd. Sajid’s temporary commercial tin shed demolished.

Action was taken on the orders of Joint Secretary Mr. Gaurav Chatwal and Secretary Mr. Mohan Singh Barniya. Assistant Engineers Abhishek Bhardwaj, Surjeet Singh Rawat, Nishant Kukreti, Junior Engineers Harshit Mauthani, Jaideep Rana, Neha Barthwal, supervisors, and police were present.
