MP Anil Baluni and MLA Vinod Kandari narrowly escaped being hit by a landslide from a hill near Devprayag Degree College. The two were traveling to Devprayag to assess the damage caused by the disaster. A landslide suddenly occurred near the college, trapping their vehicle in the debris.
Fortunately, no one was injured by the debris. MP Baluni then traveled to Devprayag in the Tehsildar’s vehicle. After attending all the events, he departed for Dehradun in a private vehicle. The NH-16 had begun clearing the debris to free his official vehicle.

MP Anil Baluni said that this year’s heavy rainfall and landslides in Uttarakhand have left deep wounds that will take a long time to heal. In this hour of disaster, I appreciate the service of all the officers engaged in serving the people, the NDRF-SDRF soldiers, the administration and the employees who are removing debris from the roads even in difficult circumstances.
