Dehradun: More than three hundred places in the state are sensitive to floods and waterlogging. The most sensitive of these are 81 in Udham Singh Nagar district. People struggle with waterlogging during monsoon. Last year, Udham Singh Nagar district suffered a lot due to floods. Government departments are claiming to try to deal with the problem of waterlogging and floods in a better way.
A mock drill was also conducted with the help of the Disaster Management Department. Apart from this, the Irrigation Department has identified how many places are sensitive in the districts of the state. There are 305 such places in the state where there can be problems of waterlogging and floods. Of these, 81 are in Udham Singh Nagar, 47 in Dehradun, 42 in Haridwar. Apart from this, 26 places in Pauri, 25 in Uttarkashi, 20 in Nainital are sensitive.
10-10 places in Chamoli, Champawat and Pithoragarh, eight in Rudraprayag, five in Bageshwar and four in Almora have been considered sensitive. Recently, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Irrigation Minister Satpal Maharaj. In this, the officials also told about the preparations to deal with the problem of waterlogging.
