If we look at the old record of monsoon, on an average, monsoon departs from the state by September 25. Monsoon departed on October 6 in 2023 and October 2 in 2024. This time too, it is being estimated around September 25.
Red alert of heavy rain in three districts today
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of heavy rain in Dehradun, Uttarkashi and Bageshwar on Saturday. There may be heavy rains at some places. At the same time, yellow alert has been issued for heavy rains in Tehri, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Pauri. There may be very heavy rains at some places in the remaining districts as well.
42.6 mm rain in 24 hours, figure crossed 170 at many places
In the last 24 hours, 42.6 mm rain has been recorded in the state. 177 mm rain has been recorded in Haripur, 140 in Kapkot, 135.8 in Karnaprayag, 128 mm in Jakholi, 125 mm in Ukhimath, 143.5 mm in Kalsi, 110 mm in Tanakpur, 112.4 mm in Dharchula, 112 mm in Khatima, 104.6 mm in Chamoli, 100 mm in Roshnabad, 100.5 mm rain has been recorded in Koti. So far, 1131.2 mm of rain has been recorded in the state during the monsoon season. The Meteorological Department has admitted that there has been heavy rain in the state in the last 24 hours.
