Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma Kau apologized to the parties involved in the assault on Director of Elementary Education Ajay Nautiyal. He appealed to the protesting teachers and staff to return to work. He expressed regret, calling the incident tragic.
At a press conference held at the BJP Metropolitan Office on Wednesday, MLA Kau stated that this incident should not have occurred this way. He explained that he had gone to the Directorate of Elementary Education to inquire about a proposal to name a school after a land donor. During this time, an altercation between the two parties ensued, leading to a commotion.
I deeply regret this incident, whether intentional or unintentional. Kau stated that no one intended to create a ruckus at the Directorate of Education. He appealed to all employee organizations and teachers in the state to resolve this dispute and return to work, so that other academic activities, including examinations, are not affected.
He also stated that the state government is continuously working in the interest of staff and teachers. The MLA was unable to provide a clear answer to the question of whether a history-sheeter was present with him during the assault. He stated that the deceased person after whom the school is being named was the uncle of the said history-sheeter
