Nalanda: An important digital initiative took place on the second day of the Ministry of Minority Affairs’ two-day Chintan Shivir at Nalanda University in Bihar. Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju launched the Nigrani App (NIGRANI App) under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK). This app will ensure real-time monitoring of ongoing development schemes in minority-dominated areas.
Emphasis on Minority Development with App Launch: Union Minister of State George Kurien, Bihar Minority Welfare Minister Jama Khan, and state ministers from other states were present at the app launch ceremony. Rijiju clarified that the goal of a developed India by 2047 cannot be achieved without the all-round development of minorities. He said that bringing all sections of society together in the mainstream is the true meaning of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.” A tool for transparency and effective implementation: The Nigrani App will facilitate monitoring of PMJVK schemes. This app will bring transparency to projects related to infrastructure development, education, health, and skill development. Officials say the app will provide real-time updates using satellite and digital tools, which will expedite implementation and address shortcomings.
Detailed Discussion on Coordination with States: During the Chintan Shivir, ministers and representatives from various states shared their suggestions and ideas for better implementation of the PMJVK on the ground. The Union Minister described the scheme as the most important program of the ministry and said such discussions are essential to strengthen center-state coordination.
Government’s Vision: Inclusive Development: Outlining the government’s vision for minority welfare, Rijiju said that policies are being formulated to ensure the economic, social, and educational development of the minority community. He emphasized that the country will progress only on the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas.”
