New Delhi: After serving the Indian Air Force for nearly 63 years, the MiG-21 retired on Friday. A farewell ceremony for the MiG-21 is currently being held in Chandigarh. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, CDS General Anil Chauhan, COAS General Upendra Dwivedi, CNS Admiral Dinesh, and Air Chief Marshal AP Singh were also present.
According to the latest information, the retired MiG-21 was given a water cannon salute. Before the salute, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh took the MiG-21 on its final flight. The MiG-21 was inducted into the Indian Air Force in 1963 and was decommissioned today after 63 years of service.
