Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) has taken strict action against illegal constructions. MDDA Vice President Banshidhar Tiwari clearly said that unauthorized construction being done by ignoring the rules will not be tolerated under any circumstances. While sealing action was taken against many illegal constructions in Rishikesh and surrounding areas under Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) area, the constructions were sealed while taking action against multi-storey buildings in Akhand Ashram Gali No. 4, Shri Pujara near Awas Vikas, and displaced Gali No. 10 and 11 in Rishikesh city. The sealing action was completed by the team formed by the Secretary, Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority, under the leadership of Joint Secretary. The Vice President has given strict instructions that whoever does illegal construction without map approval, action will be taken against him by the authority as per the rules and action against illegal constructions will continue in future as well. Especially in Gali No. 10, Nirmal Bagh B, Virshanit, Rishikesh, construction was found without approval from ground floor to third floor in an area of about 20×30 feet. This was a clear violation of the Uttarakhand Town and Village Planning and Development Act 1973. The authority had already issued notice to the builders, but no satisfactory reply was received within the time limit. After this, the last opportunity was given on 25 August 2025, yet no action was taken. After this, the MDDA sealed the said building. Sealing action was taken in the presence of police force.

Violation of rules under Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) area will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
*Major cases of sealing ordered in Rishikesh:-*
1️⃣ Nirmal Bagh, Street No. 11: Construction of first and second floor on 30×70 feet area by Mr. Manish Agarwal was being done against the rules. The authority had already issued notice to the builder but on not getting any satisfactory reply, the illegal construction was sealed.
2️⃣ Street No. 11: Illegal construction of ground floor and first floor on 30×50 feet area by Mr. Raghun Sharma. Despite the notice, it was being done against the rules. The authority had already issued notice to the builder but on not getting any satisfactory reply, the illegal construction was sealed.
3️⃣ Veerbhadra Road: Illegal construction by Mr. Pradeep Dubey. Earlier, incomplete action was taken. With the help of police force, illegal construction against the rules was sealed.
4️⃣ Nirmal Bagh, Street No. 10: Three-storey illegal construction in 30×40 feet was being done by Shri Ravi against the rules. The authority had already issued notice to the builder but on not getting any satisfactory reply, the illegal construction was sealed.
5️⃣ Nirmal Bagh, Street No. 11: Construction of school and colony on 30×100 feet area by Shri Vipin Chaudhary was being done against the rules. The authority had already issued notice to the builder but on not getting any satisfactory reply, the illegal construction was sealed.
6️⃣ Haridwar Road, Koyal Grant: Construction against the map was being done against the rules by Swami Dayanand Maharaj Ji. The authority had already issued notice to the builder but on not getting any satisfactory reply, the illegal construction was sealed.
7️⃣ Near Red Fort Road School: Illegal construction of third floor on 25×60 feet by Mr. Surendra Singh Bisht. No map despite notice. Illegal construction was being done against the rules. The authority had already issued notice to the builder but on not getting any satisfactory reply, the illegal construction was sealed.
8️⃣ Gali No. 4, Near Hotel Ganga Ashok: Colony construction on 26×50 feet by Mrs. Anita Pujara. Illegal construction was being done against the rules. The authority had already issued notice to the builder but on not getting any satisfactory reply, the illegal construction was sealed.
9️⃣ Nirmal Block B, Gali No. 11: Column construction in 60×50 feet area by Mr. Anuj. Illegal construction was being done against the rules. The authority had already issued notice to the builder but on not getting any satisfactory reply, the illegal construction was sealed.
🔟 Nirmal Bagh, Street No. 11: Shri Sagar was carrying out illegal construction on an area of 20×50 feet. The authority had already issued a notice to the builder but on not receiving any satisfactory reply, the illegal construction was sealed.
