The Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) is taking a strict stance against illegal plotting within its jurisdiction and is continuously carrying out enforcement actions. In this regard, demolition action was taken today against illegal plotting being carried out in various areas without approval. The MDDA’s clear message is that any kind of illegal plotting, illegal construction, and land use change will not be tolerated under any circumstances in the authority’s area. This action is being taken keeping in mind the systematic planning of the city, environmental protection, and the interests of the general public. The authority’s teams are constantly active in the area, and strict action is being ensured against those who violate the rules. The MDDA aims to promote planned urban development by effectively curbing illegal colonies.
In this connection, demolition action was taken against illegal plotting being carried out by Pawan, Amit, Govind, and others on approximately 20 bighas of land in Sergarh Majri Grant, Haridwar Road, Doiwala, Dehradun area. Activities such as cutting roads, dividing plots, and developing plotting without any legal permission were found on the spot. The authority’s enforcement team took swift action and demolished the illegal constructions and structures. During this operation, Assistant Engineer Pramod Mehra, Junior Engineer Pravesh Nautiyal, Supervisor Swati Deepak Nautiyal, and adequate police force were present on the spot, ensuring that the action was completed peacefully and effectively.

Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari said that the Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority is working on a zero-tolerance policy against illegal plotting in its area. Plotting being done without map approval and layout approval is not only a violation of the law, but it also causes immense problems for the general public in the future. The authority’s objective is to ensure planned, safe, and environmentally friendly development in the city and surrounding areas. Secretary Mohan Singh Barnia stated that demolition and sealing actions are being continuously taken against those involved in illegal plotting, in accordance with the rules. He appealed to the general public to verify the legal status of any land or plot before purchasing it. He advised against investing in colonies being developed without MDDA approval, as any resulting losses would be the buyer’s own responsibility
