The Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) today launched another major crackdown against illegal plotting and unauthorized construction in the capital, Dehradun. Led by Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari, the authority’s team conducted simultaneous operations in the Shimla Bypass, Mehuwala Mafi, Harbajwala, Budhpur, Naya Gaon, and Vikasnagar areas, demolishing numerous illegal constructions and sealing several buildings. During the crackdown, illegal plotting was demolished on approximately 26 bighas of land, while illegal commercial and residential constructions were sealed at six locations. This action by the MDDA is being carried out in accordance with Chief Minister Dhami’s policy to advance the capital and surrounding areas towards planned development and ensure strict control over illegal constructions. The MDDA team, led by Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari, first took action against illegal plotting in Shri Ram Enclave, located in Mehuwala Mafi. Kunal Rathore and others were involved in illegal plotting on approximately 10 bighas of land in this area. On the orders of Joint Secretary Gaurav Chatwal, the MDDA team arrived at the site and bulldozed the entire plot. The team then took action against illegal plotting being carried out by Mahesh Upadhyay, Satish, and others in Balaji Enclave on Shimla Bypass Road. Here, unauthorized plotting on approximately 10 bighas of land was also demolished immediately. Similarly, the MDDA team bulldozed approximately 6 bighas of land being plotted by J.P. Yadav and others in Saraswati Enclave, Harbjawala. MDDA Vice President Banshidhar Tiwari, Chief Engineer H.C.S. Rana, a joint team of the Authority, and police were present at the scene during all these operations. Police were deployed to ensure no disturbance occurred during the operation. In addition to illegal plotting, the Authority also sealed unauthorized commercial and residential constructions in various areas. An illegal commercial construction being carried out by Sumit Kaushik in the Budhpur area of โโShimla Bypass Road was sealed. Similarly, a commercial building being constructed by Bhagirathi Devi in โโNaya Gaon (near the Gaus Godown) was also sealed. Sealing action was taken against an illegal construction being carried out by Satish Saini on Tuntowala Road. A commercial building being constructed by Amjad near the Durga Temple on Telpur Road in Vikasnagar was also sealed. Additionally, illegal constructions being carried out by Rohit Yadav and Dinesh in the Gangotri Vihar and Monal Enclave areas were sealed. Police forces were present at all locations along with the MDDA enforcement team, and the proceedings were conducted peacefully. Regular monitoring of each area* MDDA Vice President Banshidhar Tiwari personally led the action from the spot. He stated that the authority is continuously conducting a campaign to advance the systematic development of Dehradun and surrounding areas. He stated that no concessions will be granted to illegal plotting and construction. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone who attempts to sell or construct on land without authorization. *Building a Smart and Beautiful City is Our Priority* Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari stated that the MDDA has further strengthened its area-wise monitoring system. Regular monitoring of every area is now being conducted to ensure that any new illegal construction is immediately reported. He stated that planned development of the city is possible only when everyone builds according to the rules. Making Dehradun a smart and beautiful city is our priority. Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari also appealed to the public to ensure that the land or project is approved by the authority before investing in any project or colony. He stated that investing in illegal plotting could result in significant financial losses for the common citizen in the future. Therefore, invest in any project only after consulting the MDDA website or office. *The campaign will continue* *MDDA Secretary Mohan Singh Barniya clarified that this campaign will continue.* In the coming days, action will be taken against all locations within the authority’s jurisdiction where illegal construction or unauthorized plotting is taking place. With the public’s cooperation, we are committed to developing it into a more organized, green, and modern city. Chief Engineer HCS Rana, Joint Secretary Gaurav Chatwal, enforcement officers, a surprise inspection team, and a special unit of the police force were involved in the action.
