To ensure Dehradun’s planned development and compliance with building standards, the Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) has intensified its strict enforcement of its policy against illegal construction. In this regard, the authority today carried out a large-scale crackdown in the Rishikesh area, sealing unapproved multi-story commercial and residential buildings at various locations. This action was taken against builders who had begun multi-story construction without MDDA approval. This initiative by the authority is a concrete step towards curbing the growing trend of illegal construction in the city and promoting planned development. The joint enforcement team of the authority, in the presence of police force, took action to seal the illegal constructions made by Tulsi Devi (opposite Post Office, Bankhandi, Rishikesh), Harjeet Singh (Sai Vihar Colony, near Sabzi Mandi), Jairam Semwal (Ambag Lane No. 01, displaced, opposite THDC office), Lalmani Bhatt (Ambag Lane No. 01, displaced), Ravi Gupta (Ambag Lane No. 02, displaced), Vikram Singh Bisht (Ambag Lane No. 02, displaced), Pramod Semwal (Ambag Lane No. 02, displaced), Jai Chauhan (Nirmal Bagh Lane No. 10, Block-‘B’, displaced), Sagun Sharma (Nirmal Bagh Lane No. 11, Block-‘B’, displaced) and Pramod Chauhan (opposite Ganga Pharmacy, near Indian Oil Pump, Syampur, Rishikesh) as per rules.
