The Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) is continuously taking strict action against illegal construction and illegal plotting. In another major action, the authority’s team sealed an illegal multi-story building in the Rishikesh area. The building was being constructed by Nishant Malik in Block C, Nirmal Bagh, Lakkadghat Road. This action was taken based on repeated complaints received by the authority and irregularities discovered during inspection. The MDDA team arrived at the site and completed the sealing process as per regulations. Assistant Engineer Abhishek Bhardwaj, Junior Engineers Poonam Saklani, Manish Dimri, supervisors, and police were present during the action.
MDDA Vice President Banshidhar Tiwari stated that no illegal construction or illegal plotting will be tolerated in the authority’s area. He clarified that strict action will continue against those carrying out construction without approved maps. Tiwari stated that notices are first issued to violators, and if the work does not stop, sealing and demolition actions are taken. He appealed to the public to verify the legality of a property before purchasing it.
MDDA Secretary Mohan Singh Barniya stated that surveillance on illegal construction has been increased. He stated that regular inspections are being conducted in the area and any illegal construction found will result in immediate action.
