The Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) has come to the notice of a misleading video circulating on social media, purporting to show the demolition of a gazebo built by the MDDA at Dilaram Chowk. The video also claims that government funds have been misused and that the recently constructed gazebo is being demolished without reason. The video is completely misleading, baseless, and misleading. The reality is completely the opposite. The Smart City project is carrying out extensive beautification and redevelopment work in the Dilaram Chowk area. Therefore, the MDDA has decided not to remove the gazebo, but is relocating it as per the regulations.
Due to its impact on the Smart City projects, the gazebo will be safely removed and relocated to Rajpur Park, where it will be further utilized for public seating, relaxation, and selfie points. The Authority clarifies that there has been no misuse of government funds, nor any demolition. This is simply a relocation process, in keeping with the evolving urban landscape of the future. The Authority appeals to the public to disregard misleading videos and rumors and to only verify any information from official sources.
*Statement by Vice President, MDDA, Banshidhar Tiwari*
The video circulating on social media is completely misleading. No MDDA property is being destroyed. The gazebo is only being relocated due to the square beautification work being carried out by Smart City. This gazebo will be more useful as a seating and selfie point in Rajpur Park. Our aim is to provide transparency, public convenience, and a better urban landscape in every development project.
*Statement by Secretary, MDDA, Mohan Singh Barniya*
The claims made in the video are completely baseless. The gazebo is being safely removed and relocated to Rajpur Park, where it will be put to better use for public use. The Chowk area is proposed to be redeveloped as part of the Smart City project, necessitating the relocation of the structure. The Authority is committed to public welfare and improved urban management
