The Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) is continuing its strict campaign against illegal constructions in the authority’s area. Authority teams are constantly monitoring illegal constructions and commercial activities being carried out in violation of regulations. In this regard, the authority sealed an illegal construction in the Azad Colony area. Officials say that construction without permission will not be tolerated under any circumstances and the campaign will continue in the future.
Sealing Action on Illegal Commercial Construction*
The MDDA team sealed the illegal commercial construction being carried out by Mursid near Sana Masjid in Azad Colony, Dehradun. During the investigation, it was found that the construction was being carried out without the authority’s approval. Following this, the sealing action was carried out as per the rules. The action was completed in the presence of Assistant Engineer Nishant Kukreti, Junior Engineer Neha, and the concerned supervisor. Authority officials clarified that strict action against illegal construction will continue in the future.

MDDA Vice President Banshidhar Tiwari stated that illegal constructions in the authority area will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He explained that continuous monitoring is being conducted to ensure planned development in the city. Immediate action is being taken against constructions carried out without map approval or in violation of regulations. He also appealed to the public to obtain necessary approvals from the authority before constructing a building. Actions such as sealing and demolition will continue against those violating the rules.

MDDA Secretary Mohan Singh Barniya stated that the authority’s teams are conducting regular inspections to effectively control illegal constructions. Immediate action is taken against constructions found in violation of the rules, and the campaign will continue with full strictness in the future.
