A solemn ceremony was held at the Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) on Wednesday to mark Constitution Day. The ceremony was presided over by MDDA Secretary Mohan Singh Barniya. On this occasion, officers and employees collectively read the Preamble of the Constitution of India and expressed their allegiance to the Constitution’s core values: justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. Officers and employees from various branches actively participated in the ceremony held at the MDDA campus. The ceremony concluded with a pledge to work together towards nation-building.
Secretary Mohan Singh Barniya extended his greetings to all officers, employees, and citizens present on Constitution Day and Law Day. He stated that November 26, 1949, will forever be etched in Indian history, as it was on this day that the Constituent Assembly adopted the Indian Constitution, laying a strong foundation for democracy. On this occasion, Secretary Mohan Singh Barniya paid heartfelt tribute to Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Constitution, and said that the Indian Constitution is not only the most comprehensive and inclusive constitution in the world, but also a great system for providing equal rights and opportunities to every citizen. He said that Constitution Day reminds us that the Constitution is the foundation of a nation’s development, progress, and good governance, and that it is the responsibility of every citizen to uphold the values โโenshrined in the Constitution.
During the program, Secretary Barniya also mentioned the work being done by the MDDA towards good governance, transparency, and development. He said that every development process of the Authority is being carried forward based on the inspiration of the Constitution and the priority of public interest. The MDDA is continuously striving for systematic city planning and better urban management.
