Dehradun: On the occasion of 79th Independence Day, Doon Police has made route and parking arrangements. In view of the Independence Day program, entry of all vehicles, carts and hawkers will be completely banned around the parade ground. Also, there will be a zero-zone around the parade ground during the parade.
All participants of the Independence Day parade, Army, Paramilitary, Police, Home Guard and Press, all citizens coming to watch the program etc. will park their vehicles at Ranger Ground, Mangala Devi Inter College / IRDTA Auditorium near Survey Chowk and will reach the venue on foot from both the general entrances (Gate No. 04 and 05) of the parade ground.
Parking arrangements will be like this
VIP and officer vehicles will be parked in the ramp and playground behind the stage.
Vehicles of all participants of Independence Day Parade, Army, Paramilitary, Police, Home Guard and Press, elderly, children and women etc. coming to watch the program will be parked at Ranger Ground, Mangala Devi Inter College, Doon Club near Survey Chowk.
All vehicles coming from Dharampur, Darshanlal Chowk, Doon Chowk will be parked at Rangers Ground.
Vehicles coming from Survey Chowk will be parked at Mangala Devi Inter College Ground.
Vehicles of participants and spectators from Rajpur Road will be parked on St. Joseph Subhash Road along the wall inside One-Side Street and Lord Venkatesh Wedding Point.
Diversion arrangement for Vikram vehicles
All Vikrams of Route No. 2 (Raipur Route) will be sent back from Sahastradhara Crossing.
All Vikrams of Route No. 3 (Dharampur Route) will be sent from Tehsil Chowk to Doon Chowk towards MKP Chowk.
All Vikrams of Route No. 05 (ISBT Route), Route No. 08 (Kanwali Route) will be sent back from Railway Gate.
All Vikrams of Premnagar Route will be sent back from Prabhat Cut.
Vikrams of Rajpur Route will be sent back to Rajpur Road from Globe Chowk via Pacific Tiraha and Beni Bazaar.
Diversion arrangement for city buses
City buses going from ISBT towards Rajpur Road will go towards Rajpur via Darshanlal Chowk via Ghantaghar.
City buses coming from Rispana will be sent back from Tehsil Chowk via Doon Chowk via MKP Chowk to Araghar.
City buses coming from Raipur Road will be sent from Sahastradhara Crossing via Sahastradhara Road via IT Park to Rajpur Road via Ghantaghar.
If we talk about barrier system, then 9 barriers have been installed at outer and inner points to create traffic system around Parade Ground. The outer points are EC Road Survey Chowk, Manoj Clinic, Buddha Chowk, Darshan Lal Chowk, Orient Chowk, Pacific Tiraha. Only VIP and pass holders vehicles will be allowed to enter here in limited numbers. The inner points are Rozgar Tiraha, Kanak Chowk, Dunga House, Lansdowne Chowk, Convent Tiraha. Except for pass holders and VVIPs, no vehicle will go towards Parade Ground from the inner point. Common citizens will park their vehicles in the designated parking at Rangers Ground and enter the Parade Ground on foot through the entrance.
Chehallum procession, route plan
The procession will go from Chota Imambada EC Road via Survey Chowk via Rozgar Tiraha, Convent Tiraha via Lansdowne Chowk via Darshan Lal Chowk via Tehsil Chowk to Inamullah Building.
Before the procession reaches Survey Chowk, Vikrams coming from 3, 5, 8, 2 No. Vikram, Premnagar and Cantt will be diverted.
Vikram No. 3 will return from Race Course Chowk via Race Course PNB Tiraha to Aaraghar T- Junction.
Vikram No. 5 and 8 will return from Railway Gate.
Vikram No. 2, City Bus and Commercial Vehicles will return from Sahastradhara Crossing.
Premnagar and Cantt Vikrams will return from Bindal Bridge.
When the procession starts from Karanpur, in that case, for a short time, vehicles coming from Eucalyptus Chowk towards Survey Chowk, Beni Bazar Chowk will be diverted towards Ghantaghar and traffic will be diverted from Aaraghar Chowk and Cross Road.
When the procession will move from Survey Chowk towards Rojgar Tiraha, then the traffic going from Survey Chowk towards Lansdowne Chowk will be diverted towards Cross Road. Traffic will not be allowed to go towards Convent Tiraha from Manoj Clinic.
Traffic going from Kanak Chowk to Rojgar Tiraha will be sent towards Beni Bazaar via Pacific Tiraha via Subhash Road.
Before the procession reaches Lansdowne Chowk, no vehicle will come towards Lansdowne Chowk from Buddha Chowk and Darshan Lal Chowk.
Before the procession moves from Lansdowne Chowk towards Darshan Lal Chowk, all vehicles from Tehsil Chowk will be diverted towards Doon Chowk.
Vehicles coming from Orient Chowk towards Ghantaghar will be sent from Orient Chowk towards Kanak Chowk.
Vehicles coming from Ghantaghar towards Darshan Lal Chowk will be sent towards Orient Chowk.
No vehicle from Buddha Chowk will be sent towards Darshan Lal Chowk.
Before the procession reaches Tehsil Chowk, all the traffic coming from Prince Chowk will be sent towards Doon Chowk via Drona Hotel Cut and IG Cut.
No vehicle will be sent towards Tehsil Chowk from Doon Chowk.
At the places where the rear part of the procession will cross, traffic will be normalized immediately according to the situation.
