The Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) has once again taken a tough stand against unauthorized construction. On Thursday, under the strict instructions of Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari, the authority’s team demolished an illegal commercial building in the Kanwali Road area. According to reports, the construction was being carried out in violation of the approved map by Shyam Sundar Vaishya, following orders from Joint Secretary Gaurach Chatwal. Acting in accordance with the rules, the MDDA team arrived at the scene and demolished the illegal portion. Assistant Engineer Abhishek Bhardwaj, Junior Engineer Abhijeet Thalwal, supervisors, and police were also present during the action. This action by the MDDA is being considered a strong message towards the planned and systematic development of the city. The authority has made it clear that those who build without approval or contrary to the approved map will no longer be spared.
