Chamoli: A major accident has happened in Helang near Joshimath. The debris of a broken mountain fell on the company’s dam site near the THDC barrage. Many workers have been injured in this landslide. On receiving information about the incident, the team of Tehsil administration, police, SDRF and health department reached the spot. All the injured were rescued and taken to the hospital.
Massive landslide in Helang, Chamoli: The mountain once again collapsed and fell down with a thud near a hydro power project site under construction near Helang in Chamoli district. 8 workers of the company were injured in this accident. The matter is of the barrage side of THDC of Helang near Joshimath. There was chaos due to the hill breaking here. It is being told that during this time a large number of workers were working on the site. Initially, 12 workers are reported to be injured. During this time there was an atmosphere of chaos on the dam side.
Hill fell on THDC dam site: According to the information given by the District Administration Chamoli, a landslide occurred on Saturday at the dam site Helang of Vishnugad Pipalkoti Hydroelectric Project under construction by THDC in Helang of Chamoli district. Due to this, 12 people working on the project construction were injured.
This is what the DM said: Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari said that-
There is no report of any casualty during the incident in Helang. 12 people have been injured in the incident. 4 people are being treated at THDC Hospital. 2 seriously injured people are being treated at Swami Vivekanand Hospital Pipalkoti. One person is being plastered in Pipalkoti itself. 1 seriously injured has been referred to Medical College Srinagar.

70 workers were working where the hill fell: According to the District Magistrate, there were about 300 workers on the site at the time of the accident. Around 70 workers were working at the place where the landslide occurred. As soon as the landslide was sensed, other workers alerted the people working. During this time, people ran away and saved their lives. It was told that rescue teams have reached the spot after the incident. Relief and rescue work is going on.
Workers saved their lives by running: It was told that during the diversion construction of this project, these days the Alaknanda river is flowing inside the diversion tunnel in an area of 300 meters. It was told that more than 70 employees, officers, laborers were present at the intake tunnel along with the dam construction site. However, everyone is said to be safe now. Everyone saved their lives by running away.
