Pauri Garhwal: The series of leopard attacks in the district is not stopping. Within the last one month, the fourth incident of leopard attack has been recorded. Earlier, leopard attacks were recorded in Srinagar on 11, 12 and 28 July. On Tuesday, a leopard attacked a person of Nepali origin near Bainjwadi village. The person has suffered injuries on his head and face in the attack.
According to the incident, 45-year-old Dhruv Singh of Nepali origin had gone to work in the fields near Bainjwadi village on Tuesday morning as usual. Then the leopard lying in wait attacked Dhruv. Dhruv struggled a lot with the leopard. Finally, when he raised an alarm, the leopard fled from the spot. Dhruv was injured in the attack. After the incident, with the help of local people, he was brought to Pauri hospital for treatment, where his treatment is going on.
It is being told that the leopard was already hiding in the bushes. As soon as Dhruv Singh reached the field, the leopard suddenly pounced on him. He suffered serious injuries on his head and face in this attack. During the attack, Dhruv Singh started shouting loudly, due to which the people present nearby reached the spot and the leopard ran away from there. Dhruv Singh was immediately taken to the District Hospital Pauri in an injured state. Where during treatment, he got about 10 stitches on his head and face. Dr. Gaurav said that the injured person has been given timely treatment. At present his condition is normal.
The family members said that a few days ago also the leopard was seen around the fields with the children. But this time the leopard entered the field directly and attacked. The villagers have demanded from the administration and the forest department to increase patrolling in the area and put a cage to catch the leopard. They say that due to continuous rain, wild animals are coming closer to the populated areas, due to which there is an atmosphere of panic among the people.
DFO Pauri Swapnil Anirudh said that the activity of leopard increases during the rainy season. Because there are big bushes around the houses and it is easy for the leopard to hide. In such a situation, the forest department team will patrol the area regarding the incident that happened near Bainjwadi today. If the leopard is found to be more active, then further action will be taken after the orders of higher officials.
