kotdwar:-A woman was killed in an attack by Guldar in Halsi village of Gram Panchayat Jawar located in Dwarikhal block of Pauri Garhwal in Uttarakhand. This has spread panic in the entire area. The incident took place on Sunday evening when 34-year-old Lata Devi’s wife Jaiveer Singh was grazing goats in the field near their house. On the information, the law of Paukhal region and Patwari have left for the village.
Rajesh Mian, former president of Gram Panchayat Jawar, said that Guldar, who was sitting in ambush in the bushes, suddenly attacked Lata Devi. Hearing their screams, the family members rushed to the scene, but by the time they reached there, Lata had died. Deep injury marks were found on his neck.
The incident was immediately reported to the tehsil administration and forest department. As soon as the information was received, lawyers Rakesh Dubral and Patwari Kanta Prasad left for the village. DFO of Lansdowne Forest Division Akash Gangwar and Dugdda ranger Umesh Chandra Joshi are also reaching the spot along with their team.
After this painful incident, there is an atmosphere of fear in many nearby villages including Jawad, Bistana, Kandakhal, Banali, Palla, Birmoli, Bardeth, Sundal, Udiari, Diva. DFO Akash Gangwar has confirmed that the woman died due to Guldar’s attack. He said that a team of foresters has been sent to the spot and they will personally reach the village to take stock of the incident. Forest personnel are being deployed in the area in view of security.
