In the case of Haridwar Municipal Corporation’s land scam, the government has given departmental chargesheet to two IAS and one PCS. All of them were suspended in this scam case. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had ordered an inquiry into the matter after questions were raised on the purchase of unsuitable 2.3070 hectares of land near the garbage dump in Village Sarai for Rs 54 crore by Haridwar Municipal Corporation.
Secretary Ranveer Singh Chauhan had submitted the report to the government on May 29 after conducting a preliminary investigation of the matter. After which on June 3, the then District Magistrate of Haridwar Karmendra Singh, Municipal Commissioner IAS Varun Chaudhary and ADM Ajayveer Singh were suspended. Vigilance investigation of the case is still going on.
According to the information received from the Personnel Department, after receiving the reply of the accused, the government will nominate an investigating officer for this. Who will question them after studying their answers. Further action will be taken. On the other hand, a special audit of IAS Varun Chaudhary’s tenure as Municipal Commissioner is also going on.
