Sudhakaran. Kharge further said, “He may have told you (about the alleged factionalism), but he mentioned something in our meeting that I don’t want to disclose.”
Party leader K. Sudhakaran, who also attended the meeting at Indira Bhavan, said the leaders shared their views and discussed the upcoming elections. Former KPCC chief K. Sudhakaran told reporters here, “We discussed current politics, the upcoming elections, and ways to strengthen the party. We shared our views, and now the party’s top leadership will discuss and take a decision. We will face the elections accordingly.”
Soon after the heated discussion, party leader Deepa Dasmunshi also dismissed reports of factionalism in the Kerala unit of the Congress, saying the party is united ahead of the upcoming local body and assembly elections in the state. Speaking to reporters in the national capital after the meeting on Tuesday, Dasmunshi said such allegations were being artificially fabricated by political rivals.
She said, “There is no factionalism in the Congress party in Kerala. It is a fabrication by LDF members and the BJP. I can proudly say that there is no factionalism, and everyone here stands united for the Congress party.” She said that many political and administrative issues related to Kerala were discussed in detail.
This included the opposition’s strategy against the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the BJP. She said, “There are many issues in Kerala for the upcoming electionsโlocal body elections and the Kerala Assembly electionsโincluding political issues against the LDF and the BJP. Many points need to be addressed and discussed. This was a very serious meeting.” The Kerala Assembly elections are scheduled for 2026, while the dates for the local body elections in Kerala have not yet been announced.
