Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan visited Kedarnath Dham today and paid obeisance to Baba Kedarnath. He also conducted a detailed on-site inspection of the ongoing reconstruction and development works in the Dham complex. On this occasion, he reviewed the progress, quality, and execution of the various phases of construction work in the Dham area.
The Chief Secretary received detailed information from District Magistrate Prateek Jain about all the ongoing works at the Dham and instructed officials to ensure that all construction works maintain quality, aesthetics, and religious values.
He stated that the doors of Baba Kedarnath will close for the winter season on October 23rd. He directed that even after the doors close, full preparations should be made for security, material preservation, and maintenance of works in the Dham area in the event of snowfall.
The Chief Secretary also stated that preparations for next year’s pilgrimage should begin now. All arrangements should be planned in advance so that pilgrims can enjoy even better facilities during the next pilgrimage season. He stressed on further strengthening coordination between departments related to power, drinking water, health, communication, transport, security, and disaster management
