In view of the contribution of Late Dr. Yogmber Singh Bartwal “Tungnathi” in raising a huge banyan tree like Himavant Kavi Chandra Kunwar Bartwal Shodh Sansthan Society, the Tourism Department’s Tracking Traction Center in Pokhari development block under Chamoli district and the walking track route (2.5 km) from Kanakchauri (Chamoli) to Kartik Swami Temple (Rudraprayag) will be named after the famous litterateur Late Dr. Yogmber Singh Bartwal “Tungnathi”. The above was said by the State’s Public Works, Tourism, Irrigation, Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Water Resources, Religious Endowments and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj in his address as the Chief Guest in the program organized in the Culture Department’s auditorium located at Rispana Bypass on Saturday on the birth anniversary of Himavant Kavi Chandra Kunwar Barwal. While thanking all the officials and members of Himavant Kavi Chandra Kunwar Barwal Shodh Sansthan Society dedicated to literature, art and culture for the program, he said that senior litterateur Chandra Kunwar Barwal, famous as Himavant Kavi, born in Malkoti village of Agastyamuni, Rudraprayag district, wrote more than 750 poems, more than 25 stories and many satirical articles from the age of 13 to 28 years. His contribution to the literary world in the short span of his life is unimaginable. Cabinet Minister Shri Maharaj said that if the available literature of Chandra Kunwar Barwal is evaluated properly, then he can achieve the place which he truly deserved. He said that many litterateurs have made a herculean effort to preserve the literature of Chandra Kunwar Barwal. Similarly, among us there has been a senior writer Late Dr. Yogmber Singh Baratwal “Tugnathi” who has made a significant contribution in compiling the literature of Chandra Kunwar Baratwal. Shri Maharaj said that Himavant Kavi Chandra Kunwar Bartwal Shodh Sansthan Society, under whose banner we have gathered here today on the birth anniversary of Chandra Kunwar Bartwal, this institute was also founded by the litterateur late Dr. Yogmber Singh Bartwal “Tungnathi”. He said that it is a matter of great pleasure that on this occasion a book based on many unpublished works of Chandra Kunwar Bartwal compiled by late Shri Tungnathi was released. Certainly, from this book we will be able to get more information about the literature of Himavant Kavi Chandra Kunwar Bartwal. In view of the unprecedented contribution of late Dr. Yogmber Singh Bartwal “Tungnathi” in raising a huge banyan tree like “Himavant Kavi Chandra Kunwar Bartwal Shodh Sansthan Society”, the Tourism Department has been asked to set up the Tourism Department’s Treking Traction Center in Development Block Pokhari under Chamoli district and a walking track route (2.5 km) from Kanakchauri (Chamoli) to Kartik Swami Temple (Rudraprayag). Instructions have also been given to the tourism department to name the Tungnathi (1.5 km) after the famous litterateur late Dr. Yogmber Singh Bartwal. Former minister Shourveer Singh Sajwan, former IAS Chandra Singh, Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Gonsai, Kunwar Bhawani Singh, Mrs. Kulwanti Bartwal, Research Institute’s Sachin Gaurav Singh Bartwal, Dhirendra Singh Bartwal, Colonel DS Bartwal, Shakti Bartwal and Narendra Singh Rauthan etc. were present in the program
