Dehradun:-The drone of the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority will be stationed in Haridwar during the Kanwar Yatra. Drones will monitor the crowded places, roads, ghats and bridges of Haridwar. There will be continuous monitoring of drone visuals from the State and District Emergency Operations Centre.
These instructions were given by Anand Swarup, Additional Chief Executive Officer Administration of the State Disaster Management Authority, in a meeting held at the USDMA Status Control Room on the preparations for the Kanwar Yatra.
Additional Chief Executive Officer Administration Swarup said that instructions were given to nominate an officer for a single point of contact in all departments and share their list with SEOC and DEOC.
In this regard, the USDMA will conduct a mock drill on the floods on June 30. During this time, a special mock drill will be held in Haridwar to test the safe Kanwar Yatra and the security arrangements in the Ganga Ghats. Apart from SDRF, NDRF, Jal Police, 60 disaster friends will be deployed to protect the canoes in the Ganga ghats. The alert app will be downloaded in the phone of the caravans. Additional Chief Executive Officer Implementation DIG Rajkumar Negi etc were present in the meeting.
