The Kanwar fair has reached its full glory in the first week of the month of Shravan. Such a flood of faith is rising that only queues of Shiva devotees are visible from Haridwar to Ganga canal track and highway. Within five days, 80 lakh 90 thousand Kanwar pilgrims have returned to their destination.
The official start of the Kanwar fair is considered to be from July 11, but even before that Shiva devotees had started reaching Haridwar. The administration had started counting the Kanwariyas from July 10. According to the data released by the police administration, from July 10 to Tuesday evening at 6 pm, a total of 80 lakh 90 thousand Kanwar pilgrims have left for their destination after filling Ganga water.
Between 6 pm on Monday and 6 pm on Tuesday, 31 lakh devotees collected Gangajal from Har Ki Pauri and other ghats.
Crowds of Shiva devotees are seen on all the roads of Haridwar, Ganganahar track, National Highway and other routes.
The atmosphere of the religious city painted in saffron colour is echoing with the chants of Bol Bam, Har Har Mahadev and Bam Bam Bhole
