New Delhi: Due to floods and debris flow on the Chakki river in Jammu and Kashmir, the Northern Railway has made major changes in rail services in view of the safety of passengers due to damage to the rail track.
Northern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay informed that at present 44 trains have been cancelled, 28 trains have been short-terminated and 16 trains have been short-originated. Apart from this, 3 trains have also been diverted, while 6 trains have been partially restored and 7 trains have been fully restored. These services may remain disrupted in the future as well. In such a situation, passengers may have to face trouble.
Railway officials say that those who have booked tickets in trains earlier, their money will be refunded to their account after the train is cancelled, those who had booked reserved tickets from the railway counter can cancel the ticket and get the money back. Those whose journey is being terminated at the railway station before completion can also cancel their parcel ticket and get the payment.
Railway officials say that the operation of trains will remain affected till the situation becomes normal. Overall, many important trains going from North India to Jammu, Katra and nearby areas have been affected. Railway officials have requested the passengers to get the latest information on the National Train Inquiry System app, railway’s official website and social media platforms before their journey.

SealdahโJammutvi (22317) has been short-terminated at Ludhiana.
On return, these trains will be short-originated from the same stations.
