A two-member inquiry committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of AD Garhwal Kanchan Devradi in the case of three crore scam in Pradhan Mantri Poshan Yojana (Mid Day Meal). The committee has started its investigation. Director General of Education Deepti Singh has sought investigation within two days from Additional Director Garhwal Kanchan Devradi and Finance Controller of Education Department Hemendra Gangwar, who have been nominated as the investigation officer in the case.
According to Additional Director Kanchan Devradi, the committee has started its investigation. Departmental officials said that in this case, not only the role of some officials of the Education Department but also the bank employees is suspicious. Department officials say that this scam cannot happen without the involvement of a bank employee. Despite crores of rupees being withdrawn, the department did not receive an OPT for this even once.
