Due to the intense cold, work on the Badrinath Dham Master Plan has been suspended. Workers from the contracting agency have started returning from the pilgrimage site. Work will only resume in March, after the cold weather subsides. Work on the Master Plan had continued in Badrinath Dham even after the temple gates were closed. This year, due to the lack of snowfall, the contracting agency had been working continuously.
Cement work in the outer areas had already been stopped due to the cold. Approximately 50 workers were staying at the site, engaged in riverfront development, building construction, and other tasks, but the continuously falling temperatures are making it increasingly difficult to work there. At night, the temperature is dropping to between minus eight and ten degrees Celsius.
Due to continuous cloud cover over the past few days, the cold has intensified even during the daytime. Considering this, the contracting agency has suspended work on the Master Plan at the site. All the workers have started returning. Yogesh Manral, Executive Engineer of the Jyotirmath PIU, stated that the cold in Badrinath Dham has increased, making it impossible to continue the work. Work has been suspended until March. A decision will be made after assessing the situation at the site in March.
