With a view to further strengthening and improving health services in the state, a review meeting of the Medical, Health and Family Welfare Department was held today via virtual mode. The meeting was attended by the Director General of Health Services and Chief Medical Officers from all districts of the state.
During the meeting, detailed information was obtained regarding the current status of specialist doctors, doctors, nursing officers, pharmacists, lab, X-ray and ECG technicians, optometrists, ANMs, and other positions in medical units across the state. Discussions were also held with departmental officials regarding alternative arrangements in case doctors go on leave.
In addition, information was obtained from the Director General of Health Services regarding the preparations made at the departmental level for the mandatory implementation of the biometric attendance system from January 1, 2026. Furthermore, all Chief Medical Officers were instructed to review and minimize the response time of the 108 emergency ambulance service
