Ahmedabad: An Indigo flight from Kuwait to Delhi made an emergency landing in Ahmedabad after receiving a bomb threat.
Indigo flight number 6E 1232 was forced to make an emergency landing at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad on Friday due to security reasons. The flight landed at Ahmedabad airport at 6:40 AM, triggering an immediate alert at the airport. There were a total of 180 passengers on board.
During the flight, the airline received a bomb threat and decided to make an emergency landing to avert a potential danger. Upon landing, CISF, airport police, bomb disposal squad, and other security agencies immediately swung into action. All passengers were safely disembarked, and there are no reports of any casualties or injuries. All passengers are now safe.
Flight and Baggage Thoroughly Checked
Regarding the incident, ACP G Division V.N. Yadav said, “After receiving information about a bomb threat on the flight, the plane was landed at Ahmedabad airport as per security protocols. All passengers are safe, and a detailed inspection of the flight and baggage is currently underway. The situation is completely under control.” The plane has been moved to an isolation bay, and the checking process is ongoing. Every part of the plane, passenger baggage, and cargo is being thoroughly inspected by the bomb squad.
Security Agencies Investigating from All Angles
According to security officials, further action regarding the flight will be decided only after the investigation is complete. Security arrangements have been heightened at the airport, although other flights are operating normally. An investigation is underway to determine whether the bomb threat was fake or serious, and the concerned agencies are investigating the matter from all angles.
