New Delhi: The strategic relationship between India and France is about to enter a new chapter in artificial intelligence (AI) and healthcare. French President Emmanuel Macron will visit the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi on February 18. The primary objective of this visit is to promote the use of AI in medical research, particularly in brain health and advanced MRI techniques.
President Macron will participate in the High-Level University and Scientific Meetings program held at AIIMS. During this afternoon visit, he will interact with top scientists, doctors, and researchers from India and France. During this meeting, Macron will also meet with AIIMS students who are working on AI-based solutions to future health challenges. Discussions will focus on brain health and AI: The meeting will focus on how machine learning and advanced imaging techniques can help detect brain-related diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and other mental illnesses, in an early stage. Experts believe that in a vast country like India, where there is a shortage of specialists, AI-based MRI techniques can revolutionize doctors’ decision-making. Doctors believe that AI can become not just a technology but a precise tool to save patients’ lives. This collaboration with France will take the analysis of imaging data to new heights.
France will be a partner in neuro-imaging: This international initiative involves not only AIIMS but also several other prestigious institutions. IIT Delhi will provide technical support and algorithm development. Sarbonne University will provide academic and research leadership on behalf of France. The Paris Brain Institute will help share global expertise in brain research.
France has long been a leader in the field of neuro-imaging and advanced MRI. Previously, French delegations have visited AIIMS. President Macron’s visit will put these discussions into practice. AI technology will enable early detection of diseases, reducing treatment costs and increasing success rates. This visit will not only be a formal meeting, but will also serve as a strong bridge between India’s ‘IndiaAI Mission’ and France’s technical expertise. It is expected that some important agreements related to health research may be signed during this visit.
