The Ministry stated, “The 23rd round of India-China Corps Commander-level meeting was held on October 25, 2025, at the Chushul-Moldo border crossing point.”
It further stated that this was the first meeting of the General-level mechanism in the Western Sector since the 24th round of Special Representative talks held on August 19, 2025.
“The talks were held in a friendly and cordial atmosphere. Both sides noted the progress made since the 22nd round of Corps Commander-level meetings held in October 2024 and agreed that peace and tranquility have been maintained in the India-China border areas.
Both sides agreed to continue using existing mechanisms to resolve any ground issues along the border to maintain stability.”
The Chinese Ministry of Defense said in its statement that the two sides held active and in-depth exchanges on the management of the western section of the China-India border.
It further stated that the two sides decided to maintain dialogue and communication in accordance with the decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The statement said, “They agreed to continue communication and dialogue through military and diplomatic channels under the guidance of the important consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries and jointly maintain peace and stability in the China-India border areas.”
The Eastern Ladakh dispute is a dispute between India and China. This is a border dispute along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The dispute escalated following a violent clash in the Galwan Valley in 2020, in which 20 Indian soldiers were martyred.
This dispute sparked tensions between India and China in several areas. However, the two countries recently reached an agreement to de-escalate tensions. This agreement included the withdrawal of troops and the resumption of patrolling.
