Dehradun: In Kotwali Patel Nagar area, a person has been accused of raping a disabled (mute and deaf) girl. The person works as a confectioner in a sweet shop, while the disabled girl works as a cleaner in the shop. The girl’s family filed a complaint in Kotwali Patel Nagar. After which the police have registered a case against the accused. The victim is not able to speak, so soon an expert will be appointed and statements will be taken.
In the first case, a person from Patel Nagar area has filed a complaint that his sister is disabled (mute and deaf) and she works as a cleaner in a sweet shop. Yesterday she went to the shop to clean. After which she was cleaning on the first floor of the shop. During that time, the accused confectioner followed her and raped her.
After that, the victim came home and told her family in gestures. On the complaint of the family, Kotwali Patel Nagar Police registered a case against the accused and took him into custody. On the other hand, Kotwali Patel Nagar in-charge Chandrabhan Adhikari has told that the victim is unable to speak, she can only tell her thing with hand gestures. In such a situation, the statement of the victim will be taken by appointing an expert. Also, the victim has been medically examined.
Second rape case: In the second case, a girl from Selaqui area has told the SSP in a complaint that she is originally a resident of Bareilly. In the year 2018, she met a youth from Lakhimpur Kheri, resident of Bareilly. After the first meeting, she started talking to him continuously. The closeness between the two started increasing. After which the youth proposed marriage to the victim. When the girl told her parents about this, they refused to marry. The youth had threatened to commit suicide over this, due to which the girl came to his words. The girl alleges that the youth started having physical relations with her since the year 2022.
When the girl’s family came to know about this, they expressed displeasure. But later agreed to the marriage. When the girl asked the boy to marry her, he started procrastinating. The girl alleges that the boy has also taken Rs 2 lakh from her. When the girl complained about this in Selaqui police station, the boy promised to marry her in front of the police and then refused and started threatening her. Selaqui police station in-charge Peedi Bhatt has said that on the basis of the complaint received from the SSP office, the police have registered a case against the accused and are investigating the matter. A case has been registered in both the cases yesterday.
