Ranchi: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has expressed displeasure over the fact that the distribution of seats in the Bihar Assembly elections has not been decided yet. The party has given an ultimatum to the leaders of the grand alliance to decide on the distribution of seats before the meeting of the JMM Central Committee to be held in Ranchi on October 15.
JMM central general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya, while addressing media persons at the party office on Saturday, October 11, said that the nomination process has begun in Bihar. In such a situation, people who want to contest the elections are being pressured to announce the candidate soon. In the recent meeting of the Grand Alliance, the party had expressed its desire to contest the elections on the seats. A decision should be taken at the earliest.
JMM has made its preparations
Supriyo Bhattacharya said that we are with the Mahagabandhan and will fight the elections with the Mahagathbandhan, but we have also prepared ourselves. The constituent parties there, be it Congress, RJD or Male, we gave them a respectable participation in the Jharkhand elections. In the 2019 elections too, we had given a respectable seat to the RJD, in which they won only one seat. Playing the alliance religion, we made that one representative a minister for 5 years.
The JMM leader said that this year too, we have given five percent of the seats of our state i.e. 6 seats to the RJD and also the four seats that have been won. A representative is still working here as a minister and will remain for another 5 years, because we know how to practice the alliance religion. Decide before October 15
JMM central general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya said, We urged the leaders of the coalition party in Bihar to give us our stake at the earliest. Because the nomination has started. The application of the candidates who are here has come here. We have a meeting of the central committee on October 15, so the seat that has to be given should be given officially before, otherwise we, as an independent political party, do not stand with our hands tied.
We proved how to fight against BJP
JMM said that we have proved how the elections are fought strongly against the BJP. We will remain in Bihar even if we are in a position to repeat it. Supriyo said that we do not want any kind of confusion in the alliance because no one else can take advantage of it. That’s why we want everything to be normal before our central committee meeting.
There are many seats in Bihar on which JMM’s influence
Supriyo Bhattacharya clearly said that there are many seats in Bihar where we will not help them in the elections, our leaders will not go there and campaign and our workers will not campaign there. Somewhere it will be a loss to the grand alliance which will be unexpected. He said that we will also fight Ghatshila with this strength and the decision of the candidate of Ghatshila will also be on the 15th.
On the other hand, Sudivya Kumar Sonu, a minister in the Jharkhand government, said that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is going to contest elections in Bihar, and talks have also been held with the leader of the Mahagathbandhan in Patna. He said that the party has a good base in Bihar. On the instructions of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, he had gone to Patna on October 7, where talks were also held with senior Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav and his leadership. Tejashwi Yadav and Chief Minister Hemant Soren will decide on which seats will be contested and what will be the number of seats. Tejashwi Yadav has been informed about the seats on which the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha wants to contest the elections.
Ghatshila by-election will be fought strongly
Accepting the electoral battle of Bihar and Ghatshila as a challenge, Supriyo Bhattacharya said that the party will fight elections in Bihar with full strength and will get respectable seats. The JMM had demanded 12 seats in a meeting held in Patna recently, on which no decision has been taken so far.
