Bengaluru: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Saturday said he is in no hurry to (become Chief Minister) and he knows what is written in his destiny.
He was reacting to reports from a section of the media that he had made a statement while interacting with people at the city’s Lalbagh Garden on Saturday morning that the time was approaching to replace Siddaramaiah as the chief minister.
Shivakumar said that he did not say that the time of his becoming the chief minister is approaching but a section of the media is misleading people by distorting the facts.
“””One of the people I met in Lal Bagh expressed a desire to see me as the chief minister.” He asked me if the time of my promotion was approaching. I didn’t say anything in reply. But still some channels are running the news that I said that the time is approaching. I am not in a hurry. I know what destiny has brought for me.”
Accusing some media channels of creating sensationalism and doing politics by distorting facts, Shivakumar said that if you (media) indulge in such things, they will have no objection to initiate legal action and stop talking to you.
“He said, “”I know what opportunity God has given me now and when he will give me what opportunity in the future.” I want to serve the people of my state and provide good governance to the people of Bengaluru. With this intention, I am working from morning till evening.
After the Congress high command agreed on a 30-month formula between Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar, speculations of a leadership change in the government is intense as Siddaramaiah completes two and a half years on November 20.
