Illegal mining continues in the rivers of the state: Dr. Pratima Singh

Speaking on the illegal mining business flourishing in Uttarakhand under the patronage of the Dhami government, Congress spokesperson Dr. Pratima Singh said that the illegal mining business is flourishing in the state under the patronage of the state government. The High Court has also acknowledged that the massive illegal mining in the state’s rivers is not only damaging the appearance of the ancient rivers but is also a cause for concern for the environment. The emboldened spirit of the criminals involved in illegal mining sends the message that the illegal mining companies enjoy high-level political patronage, which is a matter of grave concern for the entire state. Dr. Pratima Singh, while describing the Dhami government as a mining enthusiast, said that the Dhami government is playing into the hands of the mining mafia. He said that the manner in which the Hon’ble High Court had put a stay on the mining policy of the government and the involvement of a BJP leader in illegal mining in Kotdwar and the admission by the same BJP leader of the involvement of a government official with the mining mafia, it had become clear that the mining mafia is running the BJP’s state government, this has been proved again today by the Hon’ble High Court in its order.
