Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami will inaugurate 13 modern long range emergency sirens installed at various places in Dehradun City by the District Administration for emergency situations from Dalanwala police station at 6:00 pm on Saturday. At the same time, in the program organized at Ghantaghar at 6:30 pm, the Chief Minister will also inaugurate the beautification of Dehradun Ghantaghar under Smart City and 04 modern Hilans canteens established in Dehradun Collectorate, Coronation Hospital, Guchhupani and ISBT as well as the entry of children from begging to education under child begging prevention.
The Dehradun District Administration is busy in preparations for the proposed program of the Hon’ble Chief Minister. District Magistrate Savin Bansal and Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh inspected the program site at both Dalanwala police station and Ghantaghar on Friday and took stock of the preparations. He instructed the officers to make all the arrangements in time. The District Magistrate said that in the first phase, 13 modern long range emergency sirens have been installed in Dehradun for emergency situations, the purpose of which is to warn the citizens immediately. These sirens have been installed in police posts and they can transmit sound up to a distance of 8 to 16 kilometers at different places. Their main job is to alert people in case of disaster, so that they can go to safe places. The Chief Minister will inaugurate all these 13 modern long range sirens simultaneously with remote control in a program organized at Dalanwala police station at 6:15 pm on Saturday. During this, the shrill sound of siren will be heard simultaneously at all places in Dehradun city. People have already been informed about this so that people do not panic due to the sound of siren. He told that in the first phase in Dehradun city, sirens of 16 kilometer range have been installed at 04 places in Rishikesh Police Station, Premnagar, Clementown and Raipur. While 09 sirens of 08 km range have been installed in Thana Dalanwala, Paltan Bazaar, Rajpur, Patel Nagar, Nehru Colony, Cantt, Vasant Vihar, Police Chowki Bindal and Police Line Racecourse. The District Magistrate said that in the second phase, there is a plan to install modern long range sirens in Vikasnagar, Doiwala, Rishikesh, Chakrata and other city areas. The District Magistrate said that the second program will be organized at Ghantaghar at 6:30 pm on Saturday. In this program, the Hon’ble Chief Minister will inaugurate the beautification work of Dehradun Ghantaghar under Smart City and 04 modern Hilans canteens established in Dehradun Collectorate, Coronation Hospital, Guchhupani and ISBT as well as the work of admission of children from begging to education under Bal Begging Prevention. The district administration has installed gardens, colorful fountains and high beam lighting around the Ghantaghar, maintaining the traditional style of Dehradun’s heartbeat, the historic Ghantaghar under Smart City. Due to which the historic clock tower has started looking even more attractive as a major heritage of the city. The District Magistrate said that for the convenience of the citizens, the district administration is running modern Hilans canteens in Dehradun Collectorate, Coronation Hospital, Guchhupani and ISBT through self-help groups. Due to which many people have been linked to self-employment. The District Magistrate said that along with handicraft items, hill products and mixed dishes are being made available in these outlets. Due to which there is a good demand among the people and many people including self-help groups are getting good self-employment. Under the Bhikshavriti Nivaran Program, so far about 56 children have been freed from begging and given admission in education. The Chief Minister will dedicate all these programs to the public on Saturday. During this, Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh, Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, Additional District Magistrate (V.R.) KK Mishra, City Magistrate Pratyush Singh, SDM Harigiri along with nodal officers of departments related to tents, barricading and various arrangements were present.
