Dehradun: Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UKADA) has asked Heritage Aviation to respond on chartered helicopter service flight in bad weather from Sahastradhara heliport to Kedarnath Dham. Last Monday, Heritage Aviation had taken permission from DGCA, UCADA for chartered helicopter flight from Sahastradhara heliport to Kedarnath Dham. But due to bad weather, UCADA’s operation wing had refused the pilot to fly.
Despite this, the chartered helicopter reached Kedarnath Dham. UCADA Chief Executive Officer Ashish Chauhan said that permission was taken for the chartered helicopter. But due to bad weather, the operation wing had refused to fly for security reasons. An answer has been sought from Heritage Aviation in this matter.
On the other hand, Congress raised questions on the permission of chartered helicopter after the ban on helicopter service during rainy season. Congress chief spokesperson Garima Dasauni has demanded a high level investigation. She questioned on what basis UCADA and DGCA gave permission for the flight. Lushun Todaria, convener of Mool Niwas Bhoo Kanoon Sangharsh Samiti has demanded an investigation into the helicopter flight case in Kedarnath despite the ban.
