Uttarkashi: A helicopter crashed in Uttarkashi district this morning. Six people including the pilot died in the accident. One injured has been referred to AIIMS Rishikesh. As soon as the information of the accident was received, the police-administration along with the disaster management team left for the spot. As soon as the team reached the spot, the rescue operation started.
On Thursday morning at around 8:45 am, on receiving information about a helicopter crash near Ganganani on the Gangotri National Highway, police, SDRF, fire, medical and other disaster relief teams reached the spot. Relief and rescue work was started. The helicopter belonged to Aerotrans Company, which took off for Harshil from Sahastradhara helipad this morning.
There were seven people including the pilot in the helicopter, out of which six passengers died on the spot. One passenger is injured. Four passengers are said to be from Mumbai and two from Andhra Pradesh.

CM expressed grief
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed deep grief over the helicopter accident. He said that very sad news of some casualties has been received. May God give place to the souls of those who died in the accident in his feet and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense sorrow. The administration has been instructed to provide all possible help to the injured and investigate the accident. Said that I am constantly in touch with the officials in this regard and every situation is being monitored.
