Heavy rains are continuing in Uttarakhand since this morning. According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rains has been issued in some areas of Nainital, Champawat and Bageshwar districts. Apart from this, there are chances of heavy rains in other districts as well.
Director of Meteorological Center Rohit Thapliyal said, there is a possibility of heavy rains across the state till August 5. Heavy rains, especially in mountainous areas, can increase problems. While giving instructions, he said, avoid traveling in mountainous areas if not necessary.
There is a possibility of thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds at a speed of 40–50 km per hour in many areas of Dehradun along with heavy to very heavy rains. Looking at the situation, the DM declared a holiday in all government, non-government and private schools today on Monday. But the order did not reach the schools. In such a situation, the children reached school. Buses are dropping them home.
