There is heavy rain again in the plains of Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Center has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in some parts of Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts including Dehradun.
Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain and strong winds at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers in some parts of these districts. Yellow alert has been issued for several rounds of heavy rain in other districts as well. Talking about the coming days, there is a possibility of light rain across the state till July 26.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain in Pauri district. On which DM Swati S Bhadauria has declared holiday in all schools and Anganwadi centers from class 1 to 12 in the district on Monday.
The DM has instructed all the concerned departmental officers to remain in alert mode. Due to heavy rains, he has appealed to the people to be cautious in sensitive and disaster prone areas and not to go near rivers and drains.
20 out of 47 closed roads in the state are open
47 roads were closed due to debris after rain in the state. Out of these, 20 roads have been opened, while 27 roads are still closed. Out of the closed roads, 24 are in rural areas. According to the State Emergency Operation Center, four rural roads are closed in Rudraprayag district.
While six rural roads are closed in Chamoli, one in Tehri, four in Uttarkashi, six in Pithoragarh, two in Bageshwar and four in Dehradun district. Efforts are being made to open the closed roads. All roads in Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital, Almora, Haridwar, Champawat and Pauri Garhwal districts are smooth for traffic.
