Uttarakhand has received a major gift from the central government in the health sector under the Prime Minister’s Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission. The Ministry of Health has approved the establishment of a Health Emergency Operations Center in the state. This center will work to strengthen the state’s preparedness and response capacity during health disasters.
The Ministry has approved nine contractual positions to operate the center, including a senior public health advisor, a public health advisor, a data analyst, a hub engineer, and a data entry operator. The central government has requested the state to begin the recruitment process for the positions created for the center soon. A separate bank account will be opened in the name of the Health Emergency Operations Center for financial assistance.
Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar stated that the center will soon begin operations by hiring contractual positions based on the Ministry of Health’s guidelines. People will benefit from the timely response and improved coordination of health services during disasters.
