Dehradun: The STF and Haridwar police launched a joint operation to save a man from committing suicide. The man had shared a post on Instagram about committing suicide because of a family problem. The information about which the meta company got. On which Meta informed about it by mail to Dehradun STF. After which a team of STF and Haridwar police reached the spot and saved his life.
According to the information, on June 19, the Meta company (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp) received a call and mail from the USA. In which it was reported that a person has been posted regarding suicide. After which Meta sent a mail to Dehradun STF. On which Additional Sub-Inspector Mukesh Chand posted on duty in Dehradun Cyber Crime Police Station and Constable Nitin Ramola, appointed in the police station office, took information about the account provided by Meta company to take action.
Along with this, since the incident was related to Kotwali Nagar Haridwar, Haridwar Nagar Control Room and Kotwali Nagar Police Station were informed. After receiving the information, a team of Haridwar police reached the spot. Where the person who was going to commit suicide was saved by taking action. During interrogation, the man said that he was very upset because of the family problem, due to which he was upset and shared the post on Instagram.
The police handed over the family members by giving strict instructions: At the same time, the Haridwar police, while solving the problem, instructed not to do such an act in future and to contact the police immediately if there is any kind of problem in life. The man who attempted suicide was handed over to his family after contacting his family.
Apart from cyber crime, the STF team is also keeping a close eye on social media. Under which information about any suicide complaint or attempt made in the state is immediately received by STF and Cyber (Nodal) from Meta Company (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp) USA through call and mail.
