Dehradun: Preparations are being made to rejuvenate dilapidated schools under the Secondary Education Department in Uttarakhand. In this, schools in all the districts have been identified in four categories. Out of which repair and construction of 10 C category schools has been approved. All these schools are from Tehri, Pauri, Dehradun and Udham Singh Nagar districts. An amount of about 14 crore 39 lakh rupees has been approved for these.
The Education Department has taken a big initiative to improve dilapidated schools. For this, various damaged schools have already been classified into four categories A, B, C and D. At present, first of all, budget has been arranged to improve C category schools. Funds have been approved for the construction and repair work of 10 C category schools in the state. Under this, a total amount of 14.39 crores has been approved. Which includes schools of four districts of Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri and Udham Singh Nagar.
Four schools of Tehri district have been identified in this. On which about 9 crore rupees will be spent for construction and repair. Similarly, 3 crore rupees have been sanctioned for a school in Dehradun district. More than 1 crore 60 lakh rupees have been sanctioned for three schools in Udham Singh Nagar. Similarly, more than 50 lakh rupees will be spent in two schools of Pauri district.
Apart from C category, efforts are also being made to rejuvenate D category schools in the state. Under this, action agency has also been allotted to 6 identified D category schools. This includes schools of Haridwar, Almora and Nainital districts. Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that instructions have been given to the officials to construct these schools as soon as possible. Under this, classrooms with all facilities will be constructed in these schools. Efforts are being made to improve the educational environment with new classrooms in the schools where repairs are to be done.
