Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has taken a major decision to protect the environment. The CM has directed all government offices in the state to ban plastic bottles in government programs and to adopt sustainable and environmentally friendly alternatives instead. He said this should be strictly followed with immediate effect.
Government’s strict stance
According to information, the Karnataka government issued this order on October 28th, which was made public on Friday, October 31st, 2025. CM Siddaramaiah issued a strong message, saying that since plastic bottles have been banned in the state, it should be strictly enforced.
Statement also made on Nandini Dairy products
Siddaramaiah has also asked for the use of Nandini Dairy products in government offices and programs. Nandini Dairy is operated by the Karnataka Milk Federation and is considered a symbol of pride. From now on, only Nandini Dairy products, such as tea, coffee, milk, and other items, will be used in all government programs. The government’s intention behind implementing this decision is to reduce environmental pollution and give the state’s products a proper place and recognition. The government has urged all departments to strictly follow this order.
