Rishikesh: Good news for adventure lovers. Rafting will begin on the Ganges River within the Rishikesh-Kaudiala-Munikireti Eco-Tourism Zone on September 27th. The Tourism Department’s technical team and trained guides conducted a reconnaissance run in the Ganges River and submitted a report to the administration confirming safe rafting. Following the date, enthusiasm is evident among the rafting company operators and guides.
Jaspal Chauhan, Secretary of the Ganga River Rafting Management Committee, stated that rafting in the Ganges River had been suspended for the past two and a half months due to heavy rains. He explained that the water level in the Ganges River had risen due to the rains. Currently, the rains have stopped in the mountains, and the Ganges River’s water level has almost returned to normal. Consequently, the Tourism Department’s technical team and trained guides conducted a reconnaissance run in the Ganges River from Marine Drive to Munikireti. During this period, the technical team focused on various safety measures. After discussions, the technical team prepared a report on safe rafting on the Ganga. Jaspal Chauhan, Secretary of the Ganga River Rafting Management Committee, stated that the water level of the Ganga is currently at 338 meters. He said that now tourists coming from other places to raft will no longer have to worry about the lack of experience. They will once again have the opportunity to experience the thrill of the Ganga.
